Black Americana is sometimes called Black Memorabilia, Afro-Americana, or other names, but these are all terms referring to collectible items with an African-American theme. Most were produced from the 1900s up to the 1950s. To many people, these items can be very offensive, but, unfortunately, they represent a real, tragic, historical period of our past when basic civil rights were nonexistent for so many people. Perhaps, by seeing these items, we may be reminded how our country overcame the injustices of the past and how we can all be better.
